A well‑established Primary SEMH specialist school in Preston is seeking a dedicated SEN Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with additional emotional and behavioural needs. This is a challenging role suited to candidates with high levels of resilience and empathy and is an extremely rewarding opportunity for the right personality.
The Role – SEN Behaviour Mentor
In this SEN Behaviour Mentor role, you will work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing 1:1 and small‑group support to help them access learning and develop positive behaviours.
You will play a key role in managing challenging behaviour, using consistent, structured strategies to support emotional regulation and de‑escalate situations effectively. Building strong, trusting relationships will be essential, as you act as a positive and reliable role model for pupils who require stability and encouragement.
You will support children with needs including SEMH, ADHD, Autism, and trauma‑related behaviours, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.
