Role: PhD-Level Computational Biologist
Location: Remote
We are hiring Computational Biologists to design data-centric benchmarks that test the reasoning abilities of advanced AI models. You’ll create biologically grounded “mystery problems,” build anonymized datasets, and validate solutions through custom analysis pipelines. This short-term project pays $65–$85/hour.
What You’ll Do:
* Design biology problems with one correct answer and multiple strong distractors
* Source, preprocess, and anonymize public datasets (GEO, SRA, NCBI, etc.)
* Validate answers using your own analysis workflows and visualizations
* Work within defined technical constraints
* Ensure all datasets reflect real-world biological complexity
What Makes You a Great Fit:
* Experience analyzing sequencing/omics data (RNA-seq, WGS, mass spec, etc.)
* Proficiency with tools like BLAST, samtools, DESeq2, FASTA/FASTQ/BAM
* Strong coding skills in Python, R, or bash
* Understanding of experimental design and common data artifacts
* Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in computational biology, genomics, or bioinformatics
Role Details:
* 15–20 hours/week, fully remote and asynchronous
* ~1-month project with potential follow-on opportunities
* Weekly payments via Stripe Connect
* Independent contractor position
Application Process:
* Submit your resume
* Short technical form required
* Possible sample task or brief review call
* Typical response within 3–5 business days
