What you’ll be doing
as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Major Projects
1. Managing assessment and certification of monthly Applications for Payments (AFP)
2. Supporting the procurement of surveys and other services needed during the design of a project
3. Supporting the procurement of design and build contracts to upgrade Thames Water's treatment works
4. Advising project stakeholders of commercial-related issues.
5. Assisting senior staff in monthly commercial meetings.
6. Calculating and reporting monthly VOWD position to the business finance partner.
7. Assisting with the dispute resolution process.
Location – This is a hybrid role, and the base location can be flexible across our Thames Valley sites.
Salary - £35,940 to £43,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours - 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
8. BSc, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
9. Some experience in Quantity Surveying within a commercial setting.
10. Previous experience of dealing with suppliers and contractors as a customer.
11. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
12. Keen attention to detail.
13. Good numeracy and excellent written skills.
14. Proficient in MS Office.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
15. Previous water or utilities experience
16. Experience in Commercial Administration or QS within the construction sector is desirable.
17. A driving licence is desirable but not essential.
