Seasoned Construction Engineer - UK (Hybrid) - Laminar Projects
Laminar Projects is a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer focused on upgrading how construction projects are delivered. We seek a Seasoned Construction Engineer to enhance project delivery through planning, strategies, and digital tools. This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team, specifically the Project Planning Team, with an initial leader who is a planning discipline director.
The Role
Purpose of the role
You’ll enhance the delivery of complex and interesting projects through high-standard project planning. You’ll devise strategies and tactics to improve delivery, translate knowledge into a logic-linked plan, analyse it with planning software, and help teams prioritise work based on the plan.
Your team
You will be in our Project Planning Team, known for leading planning of complex construction projects. Initial leadership will come from one of our planning discipline directors. Our Project Management Consultancy team focuses on understanding project problems, implementing the best solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools and technology.

Your responsibilities
* Own the plan: own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure execution; mitigate delays and manage commercially
* Own the outcome: ensure the project team understands and follows the plan
* Report and inform: provide actionable reports to stakeholders to improve delivery
* Make scalable solutions: develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools with the team
* Develop everyone: maximise personal and professional development of your team and educate clients
Must have
* Construction engineering background: at least 2+ years of experience on construction projects
* Communication: proficient in written and verbal English with the ability to influence construction professionals
* Leadership: proactive self-leadership and ability to lead others by asking the right questions
* Impact: track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions with positive impact

You’ll work on some of the most complex and interesting environments in the world, with exposure to multiple projects in your first year. We have experience with data centres, major infrastructure, high-tech manufacturing, and complex building projects. Where would I be working?
Work from home or travel to sites; visit our London office for workshops; and occasionally travel to Europe or the Middle East depending on projects and life/work fit.

You’ll document new solutions and evolving practices for open-sourcing to the industry, contributing to knowledge repositories and helping develop new products tested in the field.
