Job Description
Are you looking for a graduate role where you can build strong commercial insight alongside data and technology skills? Do you want to help teams make better decisions about cloud spend and the value delivered by technology?
We’re looking for graduates to join our TBM and FinOps Analyst Graduate Programme. You’ll help improve transparency of technology costs, support forecasting and budgeting, and drive better value from our cloud and technology investments.
Joining L&G marks the start of an exciting future. Get involved, stay curious, and discover how we help you be your best, no matter who you are.
Your role at a glance
From day one, you’ll be part of a team that supports financial governance and value management across technology and cloud.
* Begin with our Future Talent induction, building connections with fellow graduates and learning how L&G operates.
* Support FinOps processes such as cost allocation, tagging/chargeback/showback, anomaly investigation, and optimisation tracking.
* Help produce and improve TBM‑style reporting, translating technology costs into clear services/products and outcomes.
* Assist with month‑end activities, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis for technology spend.
* Build and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI/Excel), improving data quality and automation where possible.
* Work with engineering, product, and finance stakeholders to explain drivers of spend and identify opportunities for efficiency.
* Create and maintain clear documentation for reporting, definitions, and recurring processes.
* Take part in structured training, workshops, and mentoring to build strong foundations in TBM and FinOps practices.
* As your confidence grows, you’ll take ownership of specific reporting areas or cost domains and help drive measurable improvements.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attain professional and industry recognised qualifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner (POCP) and TBM Fundamentals (TBM Council). To be agreed with the successful candidate once they’ve joined.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for graduates with an interest in data, technology, and commercial decision‑making. You don’t need prior industry experience as we’ll ensure you are fully trained and supported but you should be curious, analytical, and motivated to learn. You’ll bring:
* A 2:1 degree or above in a numerate or analytical discipline (e.g., Business, Economics, Finance, STEM), or equivalent demonstrable analytical capability.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Confidence working with data in Excel and an interest in learning tools such as Power BI, Apptio.
* Clear communication skills—able to explain data and insights to a non‑technical audience.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to work with technology, finance, and business stakeholders.
* An interest in cloud, technology cost management, or how organisations measure technology value.
* An awareness of Azure/AWS cost concepts, dashboards, SQL, or basic scripting is nice to have but not essential.
