The Role The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee commercial activities across multiple sites, manage high-value packages, and mentor junior QS staff. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that demands strong contractual knowledge and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and management of project budgets and cost estimates. Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contractual terms. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors. Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior quantity surveying role within civil engineering. Extensive knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT). Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Full UK driving license.
