Working Hours / Shifts: 8.40am to 5.20pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.
Role Overview: This role involves conducting routine clinical diagnostic testing for technical projects. Key duties include:
1. Routine use of the RCLS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
2. Performing various analytical procedures, including manual screening and automated methods for clinical diagnostic tests.
3. Preparing and handling samples and diagnostic reagents; operating automated analytical systems.
4. Maintaining analytical records accurately, preparing validation plans, reviewing data, and report writing.
5. Routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments.
6. Troubleshooting technical issues.
7. Reviewing and planning validation for new, developed, or existing processes related to clinical diagnostics.
8. Assisting with staff training.
9. Working within timelines and deadlines as guided by the Technical Manager or Team Leader.
10. Writing detailed reports with rigorous analysis of results.
11. Preparing and presenting R&D Design Reviews to Senior Management.
12. Meeting targets on validation projects.
13. Staying up-to-date with current methods and technologies.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology, or Life Sciences.
* HCPC Biomedical Scientist registration.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Experience with validation procedures and project management.
* Experience analyzing and documenting large datasets.
* Experience operating clinical chemistry, immunoassay, or haematology instrumentation.
Desirable:
* Experience in staff training.
* Experience with project management software.
