My client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join them on a fixed term contract until the end of December 2024.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
* Provide maintenance support to production by ensuring a fast and efficient response to equipment problems.
* Carry out maintenance on all equipment.
* Escalate any issues with maintenance within the agreed timeframes of the department to the relevant people.
* Carry out regular preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
* Maintain correct and accurate document records in line with the maintenance activities carried out.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and implement suitable solutions.
* Provide support to onsite engineering projects.
* Provide engineering solutions to reoccurring incidents of equipment problems.
* Recognise spares and part requirements.
* Carry out ad hoc duties as when required which may not be listed above to meet business needs.
* Be flexible in approach and hours to meet maintenance demands (including weekends where necessary)
Skills and experience required for this role are:
* Educated to ONC/HNC level in an engineering discipline or equivalent (qualified by experience also considered).
* Must have a maintenance background (both mechanical and electrical) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
* Ideally with a working knowledge of PLC and familiar with fault finding.
* Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing organisation.
* Quick understanding of complex situation and implementation of corrective actions.
* Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and conflicting priorities.
* Problem solving skills are required, as well as an ability to communicate issues and corrective actions to management.
* IT skills including all MS office and engineering related.
* Fault finding/route cause analysis skills.
* Self- starter, flexible approach and capable of managing own workload.
* Project management skills.
* Experience in major overhaul / repair techniques would be advantageous.
Hours or work are 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-1pm on Friday.
Salary is £45K pro rata
