* Grade: Tier 1: Base Hourly rate: £13.38 with additional shift allowance. Campaign rate will be £14.83.
* Working Pattern: Beet Intake shift pattern (12-hour shifts, average 42 hours/week including weekends).
Job Purpose
British Sugar is the leading sugar supplier in the UK and one of the most efficient sugar processors worldwide. We partner with over 3,500 growers to produce home-grown sugar, supplying around 50% of the UK’s sugar market. We are committed to building and supporting a beet sugar industry that benefits Britain.
We are recruiting for seasonal roles on our sugar beet processing campaign, running from late August 2024 to mid-March 2025.
This is a TEMPORARY position, with employment expected to end around March 2026 (to be confirmed).
The role involves working within the Beet Intake team to ensure safety, production, quality, and compliance standards are met. Responsibilities include weighing, sampling, grading, traffic marshalling, and processing sugar beet vehicles, as well as troubleshooting operational issues.
Core Accountabilities
Ideal candidates will have practical experience, preferably in a production environment or similar process operation, though comprehensive training will be provided. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential.

* Meeting safety, production, quality, and all other compliance requirements.
