Join Capita Public Service as Head of PMO
Capita is seeking an experienced Head of PMO to lead the PMO function for a strategic client programme. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver high-quality programme support across a multi-phase transformation initiative, ensuring robust governance, reporting, and delivery standards.
Reporting to the Client Group Head of Portfolio Office, you will establish and lead the PMO team to support the programme, ensuring services are defined, delivered, and maintained to a high standard. You'll author key guidance documents, embed governance and reporting structures, and ensure consistent adherence across the programme. Working closely with the Major Programme Director, you'll drive quality delivery and act as a key member of the wider Client Group Portfolio Office team, sharing best practice across the PMO community.
This is a fixed-term contract role for approximately 12 months.
With the successful candidate's support, this role will require Security Clearance (Level 2) to be put in place that will need to remain valid throughout the entire duration of the role.
What you'll be doing
* Lead the PMO team to deliver defined services and ensure value is added across the programme
* Establish and embed governance, reporting, RAID, change control, and stage gate processes
* Ensure accurate, timely data supports decision-making and programme transparency
* Create and maintain a centralised document repository for programme materials
* Deliver effective RAID and Change Control management aligned to contractual SLAs
* Own and manage Stage Gate processes to support lifecycle control and reporting
* Ensure document management is robust, auditable, and centralised
* Leverage tools and technology to streamline PMO processes and reduce manual effort
* Champion stakeholder engagement and communication across multiple organisations
What we're looking for
Essential skills and experience
* Proven experience in a BPO organisation delivering services to external clients
* Expertise in RAID, dependency, change control, and stage gate management
* Strong written communication and production of high-quality programme materials
* Experience in large-scale programmes with external clients, partners, and suppliers
* Ability to lead and motivate a PMO team, championing diversity and inclusion
* Skilled in governance, reporting, and establishing a single source of truth
* P3O Practitioner qualified
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience in a PMO Management role within an Oracle Fusion ERP implementation
* PRINCE2 or MSP Practitioner certified
