Job summary
Anexciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a suitably experienced and motivatedManagement Accountant to join our successful team within the finance functionat County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is a permanentpost, reporting to and supporting the Senior Management Accountant and theAssociate Care Group Accountant.
Itwill be based on site for the majority of the week with the potential for aportion of the week to be worked away from the office.
Main duties of the job
Thesuccessful applicant will work within a smaller team of 5 people, providingcomprehensive financial management and business advice service to Clinical CareGroup encompassing:
1. Budgetary control
2. Financial advice and support
3. Monthly reporting

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Youwill have excellent numerical and analytical skills and possess the ability towork autonomously, achieve deadlines and prioritise your workload. Significant experience in Microsoft Excel anda good understanding of general ledger accounting software would be anadvantage.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Minimum of 5 GCSEs / O Levels (A* - C) including Maths and English
2. Demonstrates a track record of academic achievement or has experience of working within a finance function.
Desirable
3. Experience of working within a NHS finance function.
4. Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification
Special Skills and Knowledge
Essential
5. The ability to provide and receive complex financial information to/from financial and non-financial staff orally, in writing or electronically in a professional manner.
6. Good computer skills with experience of the Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
7. The ability to input into and interrogate the Finance General Ledger to obtain standard and ad hoc reports.
8. Has the ability to quickly learn new skills and tasks as and when required.
9. Ability to work to all routine and ad hoc deadlines.
10. Ability to identify and act to remedy circumstances that mean a deadline is at risk.
11. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
12. Able to provide training, advise and review the work of more junior team members.
