Qualified Social Worker – Duty & Assessment
Location: North West
Pay Rate: £36 per hour
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join a dynamic Duty & Assessment team in the North West.
This is your opportunity to make real impact, working with a supportive team and an experienced Team Manager, delivering high-quality interventions to children and families at the earliest possible stage.
️ About the Role
1. You’ll be on duty every 5 weeks, providing crucial front-line assessments and safeguarding responses.
2. Work includes Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court Proceedings.
3. Collaborate with health, police, education, and early help teams for effective, multi-agency responses.
4. Join a local authority with a positive culture and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You’ll be part of a busy but supportive team that values reflection, offering monthly individual and group supervision.
Your Responsibilities
5. Complete robust assessments of risk, need, and safeguarding within statutory timescales.
6. Manage a varied caseload including duty cases, assessments, and ongoing interventions.
7. Create outcome-focused care plans that promote safety, stability, and long-term change.
8. Use your professional judgement to make timely, evidence-informed decisions.
9. Build meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in the process.
What We’re Looking For
10. Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
11. 4+ years' experience in statutory children’s services
12. Strong background in Duty & Assessment, Child Protection, and Court Work
13. Confident decision-maker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
14. Deep understanding of child safeguarding legislation
15. Skilled in working within a multi-disciplinary environment
