Liberty Steel Group has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our High Voltage Electrical Maintenance Team. The role of the High Voltage Technician will be to provide high voltage electrical inspection and repair services for the Speciality Steels business across three Liberty sites in South Yorkshire, with occasional work for other business units at different sites.

The candidate should have specific knowledge and skills to perform electrical maintenance and repairs on high voltage (>1000V) and low voltage (<1000V) networks and associated switchgear.
The job holder should be apprentice trained with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical inspection and repair work in a heavy industrial environment, preferably involving high voltage work and fault finding.
The role requires working as part of a team, understanding safe working procedures, applying recognized safety practices, and ensuring team members adhere to safety standards.
Team members must be self-motivated, highly flexible, able to work unsupervised, and committed to delivering first-class customer service in line with departmental goals and KPIs.
Requirements of the High Voltage Electrical Technician:
* Knowledge of HV & LV networks, circuit breakers, protection equipment, transformers, earthing systems, and permit-to-work systems.
* Electrical testing methods and fault-finding skills.
* A methodical approach to work, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making capabilities, and effective communication skills.
* A current driving license is essential.
Working Pattern:
* The role operates on a 7-day rota, with working hours from 7 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, and 6 am to 2 pm on weekends, with occasional overtime paid at a premium.
