Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high standard of food production and presentation. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for both staff and customers while ensuring efficient and profitable kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants, to ensure smooth daily operations
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high-quality standards
* Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations
* Develop menus in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating innovative dishes while adhering to budget constraints
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed, including HACCP protocols
* Monitor kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and maintenance to uphold health and safety standards
* Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety practices, and customer service expectations
* Manage scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours and special events
* Collaborate with front-of-house teams to optimise service delivery and customer satisfaction
* Handle customer feedback professionally and implement improvements as necessary
Requirements
* Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality environment
* Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
* Culinary experience that demonstrates creativity and attention to detail
* Familiarity with restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and customer service excellence
* Experience with barista duties or bar management is advantageous but not mandatory
* Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or special events as required
