Science Teacher
* Location: Rural Lewes
* Job Type: Permanent - Full Time
* Working Hours: 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM
* Start Date: September
We are currently seeking an Science Teacher to join a special school in Lewes. This role involves teaching GCSE Science curriculum on a 1:1 basis or in very small classes, catering to secondary school-aged pupils with complex behaviours and needs. This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of students who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver Science lessons to individual students or very small groups without the need for lesson planning or preparation, as these are already in place.
* Work closely with teaching assistants who provide support as needed.
* Engage and motivate students to develop their self-belief and learning skills in a supportive and effective learning environment.
* Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Up to data knowledge and experience of teaching GCSE Science curriculum
* Experience working with children who have complex behaviours and special educational needs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
* A compassionate and patient approach to teaching vulnerable students.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
