About the Role
Are you friendly, caring, and enjoy working with people? We are looking for a friendly individuals to join our team, supporting both our café services and our clients in a welcoming, community focused environments across community centres, day centres and sheltered housing.
You could be supporting to serve delicious food and beverages as a café assistant or barista, helping in the kitchen, or offering companionship and practical support to clients during mealtimes and social activities. This is a varied, hands on role that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Greet and welcome clients, visitors, and café customers warmly
2. Serve meals, snacks, and drinks, and support light food preparation
3. Assist with meal times, offering practical help and friendly companionship
4. Prepare, clear, and maintain dining and café areas to a high standard of cleanliness and safety
5. Support clients to participate in social activities
6. Handle café cash or card payments and maintain accurate till records
7. Assist with light housekeeping, table setting and kitchen hygiene
Candidate Requirements
8. Genuine empathy, compassion, and a friendly approach
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Reliable, patient, and approachable
12. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
13. Previous experience in care, hospitality, or community support is desirable but not essential
14. Willingness to obtain a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) membership
