The Company:
Our client is a German manufacturer of high-quality electrical automation products and systems, serving a wide range of industries around the globe. With a strong heritage of engineering excellence and innovation, their solutions are trusted by OEMs, machine builders, and system integrators worldwide.
This is a home based role covering South West England, Wales and West Midlands so driving and travel is expected daily. The induction and onboarding will take place at the UK head office, based in Surrey. Here they are able to support customers across the country with technical expertise, sales enquiries and quotations and responsive service. As part of a global group with an annual turnover of approximately £300 million, they combine the strength of an international business with the agility and customer focus of a small close knit sales team.
The product portfolio you will sell includes safety control systems, PCBs, circuit board components, connectivity solutions and certified training course for electrical safety in the manufacturing work place.
The Candidate:
Are you an experienced sales professional with a passion for electronics and a proven ability to manage and grow key accounts? We're looking for a dynamic Key Account Manager to drive sales across South West England, Wales, and the West Midlands, representing a leading portfolio of safety control products, PCBs, and circuit board components.
You'll be instrumental in growing relationships with OEMs, machine builders, and both national and independent distributors, acting as the face of a respected brand in the industrial electronics space. The area has been well worked but there is a huge opportunity to develop technical end user accounts as well as cross selling and upselling within the distribution customers. A high level of technical proficiency is required as much of the role will require you to present and advise customers on the technical specifications needed in their machine building process. Typical OEM customers would include sectors such as packaging, agriculture, process control, food and beverage manufacturing machinery and plastics.
The Role:
1. Manage and grow a defined portfolio of key accounts across the region
2. Develop new business opportunities with OEMs, machine builders, and distributor networks
3. Provide technical and commercial support to clients, ensuring the right product-fit
4. Build strong relationships with specifiers, design engineers, project managers, technical teams, electrical engineers, and procurement teams
5. Collaborate closely with internal teams to follow up on leads, quotes and customer service
6. Deliver accurate sales forecasts and contribute to regional sales strategy
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
7. Proven track record in technical field sales or key account management within the electrical sector.
8. Strong knowledge of PCBs, circuit board components, or industrial safety products. Candidates with a qualification in electrical engineering are at an advantage
9. Experience selling into OEMs, machine builders, or electronic component distributors
10. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
11. Self-motivated and target-driven, with the ability to work independently
12. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the assigned territory
The package:
13. Basic salary of £50-60k
14. Minimum of 20% of salary can be earned in bonus
15. Hybrid company car
