Technical & Design Engineer – Wisbech – Competitive Salary
Are you an innovative Technical & Design Engineer with a strong manufacturing background and a passion for developing high-quality engineered products? This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking product development environment where you will play a key role in enhancing existing product ranges, supporting manufacturing operations, and delivering technical excellence to customers and internal teams alike. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be instrumental in driving design improvements, ensuring compliance standards are met, and supporting production through effective CAD and CAM processes.
Technical & Design Engineer’s Key Responsibilities:
Carry out CAD design work to enhance and develop existing product ranges.
Control and manage drawing revisions and storage to ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
Provide CAM support to the production department to ensure smooth manufacturing processes.
Write and update operator manuals and parts books, ensuring compliance with CE/UKCA standards.
Provide technical support to customers, dealers, and internal teams, including occasional travel to exhibitions and key accounts.
Skills & Experience Required as a Technical & Design Engineer:
Proven experience within a design and manufacturing environment.
Competent in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) with experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
Strong mechanical and engineering knowledge, ideally within sheet metal fabrication.
Understanding of sheet metal flat pattern development and bend allowance data.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly and work both independently and as part of a team.
