Our stunning care home, Formby Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility located in Formby, Merseyside. The home is registered to provide care to 76 residents with a variety of needs including residential, nursing, and dementia care. The home reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. It meets all CQC requirements and invests in enhancing residents' experiences, including award-winning activities and wellbeing programmes like OOMPH, electronic medication records, acoustic monitoring, and silent nurse call systems. We maintain a permanent staff team with zero agency usage for over 4 years, ensuring continuity and familiarity for residents. All staff are paid above the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint a kind, enthusiastic, and fun Wellbeing Assistant to join our team. The role involves creating a caring and inclusive culture around therapeutic activities, supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator, and developing a comprehensive programme as part of the home’s core offering. This is a 15-hour contract with an excellent hourly rate of £11.44. Shift times are 10:00-15:00, with alternate weekend working, and some flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the creation of weekly activity programmes to stimulate physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of residents.
2. Develop innovative programmes enabling residents to achieve their capabilities.
3. Motivate and guide staff to incorporate wellbeing and activities into their roles, with support from the Wellbeing Coordinator.
4. Familiarize with residents’ life stories and Wellbeing and Activity plans, contributing to their review.
5. Ensure risk assessments are in place for all activities, in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
6. Understand the needs of residents with various conditions.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of adults in contact with the post holder.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working with older people is essential.
2. Experience delivering activity programmes is essential.
3. Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate activity needs of older people is essential.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
6. Ability to prioritize and handle emergencies effectively.
7. Creativity, imagination, enthusiasm, and forward planning skills.
