Position: Full-time, Cover Supervisor
Location: Secondary School, Faringdon
Start Date: September 2025
Monarch Education are looking to recruit a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to start in September 2025. This role is full-time (but will consider part time applications), to work in a number of Secondary Schools across the Faringdon area, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for education and supporting students' learning.
We are looking for an individual who is flexible, proactive, and committed to providing high-quality support to students across a range of subjects. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students stay engaged and continue their studies effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise Classes: Manage classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and complete their assigned work.
* Maintain a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a calm, focused, and productive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and ensures high standards of behavior.
* Support Learning: Provide support to students with their learning, offering guidance and assistance when required, ensuring that all students can access and progress with their work.
* Ensure Adherence to Lesson Plans: Ensure that students follow the lesson plans set out by the absent teacher, ensuring a smooth transition between teachers.
* Consistent Behaviour Management: Apply school policies and behavior management strategies to maintain a well-behaved and respectful learning environment.
* Liaise with Staff: Communicate effectively with the teaching staff and school leadership team to ensure continuity in the delivery of lessons, addressing any issues that arise and providing feedback on student progress.
Candidate Specification
We are looking for a Cover Supervisor who possesses the following qualities:
* Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order and focus in a variety of subjects and learning environments.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with teachers, students, and school leadership.
* Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to step into different subjects and classrooms with confidence.
* A proactive attitude, with the ability to engage students and encourage a positive learning experience.
* A passion for supporting students in their education and a commitment to ensuring they stay on track with their learning in the absence of their regular teacher.
