About the role:
The People Advisor role is part of the People Operations Team, and is a trusted advisor to the business. You will support line managers by providing advice and guidance across all HR policies and managing complex cases with a commercial focus. You’re confident in your Employment Law knowledge and are comfortable translating this into the advice you give, managing cases from beginning to end. You’re comfortable working independently, are able to prioritise effectively and manage high volumes of cases.
This is a collaborative role, you’ll work closely with the team of People Partners to manage cases. You’ll also work with the People Associates and People Operations Manager to ensure consistency of communication, policy and practices and sharing of information.
● The People Operations team supports the business as the first point of contact for colleagues, providing HR policy advice and guidance, with empathy and professionalism.
● Employee Relations expert, able to manage complex Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability, Long Term Sickness, Performance etc. cases including supporting items escalated by the People Associates
● Coach and influence managers to ensure decisions are in line with current legislation while remaining commercially aware
● Identify training needs in core ER topics, design and deliver content
● There will be the opportunity to support ad-hoc projects as and when required
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who is happy to take on the responsibilities above and learn and develop on the job but we feel that there are a few really important things you will need to succeed here.
● Ability to challenge and influence key decision makers with an assertive and confident approach
● Strong HR generalist background with demonstrable experience managing complex cases in a commercial environment including redundancies, dismissals, change management. Experience managing high volume caseload desirable.
● Highly organised and pragmatic approach with good attention to detail and the ability to deliver to set deadlines
● Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
● Comfortable using data and completing analysis to identify trends and provide insight ● Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships
● A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and efficiencies
● Happy to work both collaboratively as part of a team and completely autonomously using initiative where required
● Is resilient and comfortable working with high levels of ambiguity in a fast paced environment that will continue to change and evolve
● Proactive problem solver who acts with high levels of professionalism at all times ● Excellent computer skills including experience with Google Suite desirable ● Comprehensive and up to date grasp of employment legislation and its practical application
● CIPD qualification or equivalent desirable
