As a Youth Engagement Worker, your role will be multifaceted and no two days will be the same. You will encourage students in developing their social, emotional and educational lives and with that comes great job satisfaction and a sense of personal achievement.
Previous experience desired but not essential. If you don't have direct experience but you do have transferable skills such as working in a care, military or sports background - we encourage you to apply!
The School
A Liverpool based school seek to appoint a Youth Worker to support their secondary Pupil Referral Unit pupils here have been excluded from mainstream school, have emotional, behavioural needs, attendance or truanting issues.
Role
1. This will be supporting students with social, emotional, mental health needs across secondary ages providing classroom support as well as home support if needed
2. You will also be required to provide 1:1 support with any emotional issues, and supporting if pupils are behind with their work
3. Completing progress reports on pupils progress
4. Support young people with social, emotional, mental health needs
5. Flexible in being able to provide 1:1, group support or home tuition as required
6. Deal with any challenging behaviours or incidents in a calm manner

9. A non-judgemental attitude
10. Good planning and organisational skills
11. Initiative and leadership qualities, with the ability to relate to young people
