Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Daventry for an enthusiastic and creative English Teacher to support secondary-aged students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about literacy, language, and helping young people develop strong communication skills.
As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening, supporting students as they study a range of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry texts. You will encourage critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in written and verbal expression, helping students prepare effectively for assessments and GCSE examinations.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities, including those with SEND or additional learning needs. You will use assessment data to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to support attainment and engagement.
Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students are essential. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to department planning where required, and uphold the school's high expectations for teaching and learning.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
Be passionate about literacy and student progress
Have strong classroom management and organisational skills
Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS
