Working alongside the Children and Families social work teams, voluntary sector and statutory partners the service will work with children, survivors and victims of abuse and perpetrators. We will deliver our service in a gender informed approach and this will be a core principle of our work.
Too often perpetrators of abuse can simply move on and abuse another family. So, we want to ensure that families are safe but also offer perpetrators an opportunity to change their behaviours, actions and attitudes.
The service will be able to:
* Ensure that families experiencing the impact of domestic abuse receive a high-quality high impact service.
* Provide evidence-based interventions for victims/survivors of abuse and their children.
* Ensure victims/survivors receive a connected service across all parts of their lives.
* Enhance practitioners’ knowledge across the partnership.
* Support perpetrators to receive a non-stigmatising service that enhances the potential of engagement and lasting impact.
Family Worker
We are looking to recruit a family worker to offer practical and emotional support to children and young people, who are living with the effects of domestic abuse and overcoming the traumatic impact on their lives. Our family workers will offer 1 to 1 sessions to support children and young people whether the domestic abuse is current or historical. Additionally, the family workers will offer sibling and family group work.

About You
You will have experience of supporting children, young people and parents, adults and/or families affected by domestic abuse and related safety issues. You will have the ability to undertake advocacy on behalf of the parents, children and young people.
You will have delivered evidenced based programme to promote families’ well-being. You must have a working knowledge of the causes of domestic abuse and different approaches to prevention and support programmes and an understanding of issues that affect people and their families who are subjected to domestic abuse, whilst working in a multi-disciplinary environment, including successful partnership working.
You will be passionate about the rights of survivors and victims of abuse and the eradication of domestic abuse. You will contribute to a service that fosters empowerment and personal growth for the team members.
