There won’t be a dull moment, as the market consistently fluctuates for collectable magazines, and you will be able to bring your own ideas to increase sales.
The Role
Demand for their products fluctuates depending on current affairs and media factors (e.g. when a celebrity publishes new content etc.) Your job responsibilities will adapt depending on demand. During spikes in demand, buying is key to the role; whereas during slower demand then Marketing activities are more prevalent.
Sales (Buying)
* Work closely with the founder to spot demand trends, to then source the right products
* Build excellent relationships with current and new suppliers
* Build excellent relationships with fan clubs
* Build and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the magazine print industry
* Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value products (price and amounts)
* Monitor stock levels for new products and forecast future requirements based on demand planning and budget
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and margins
* Identify and evaluate new suppliers and assess supplier performance
* Work closely with the fulfilment and customer service team to deliver products to customers efficiently and cost effectively.
Marketing
* Build a content strategy and calendar, to meet company objectives
* Create engaging content for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, including imagery and video content
* Use analytics to track performance and identify opportunities
* Conduct regular competitor analysis, and report findings back to the leadership team
* Work with the Marketing platform, Omnisend, to deliver Email Campaigns
* Placing products on sales channels such as TikTok shop
* Lead on paid advertising activities, for search and social
* Act as a Community Manager, engaging with prospective customers in existing social media ‘fan clubs’ and creating new fan groups
The Person
* 2 years + experience in a Sales, Marketing or Buyer role, ideally experience in more than one of these fields
* Business acumen; being able to understand your target market and adapt accordingly
* Excellent relationship builder, strong communication and negotiation skills
* Excellent copywriting and editing skills
* Paid Advertising experience is strongly desired
* CRM and eCommerce experience
* Dynamic self-starter, proactive to make things happen
* Organisational and time-management skills
* Resilient and patient when required
* Excellent organisational skills
The Details
* Location: Central Brighton
* Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
* Bonus: Significant performance related bonus
* Working: 5 days per week in the office.
