ACP MINOR ILLNESS/INJURY TRAINED – WIC – GREAT SALARY + BENS. (Job Ref: dmdlmil3)
Our client is looking to recruit a Minor Injuries/Illness ACP to join their team of clinicians and deliver the best care to patients in the area. The role involves managing episodes of care for patients with minor injuries and managing acute undifferentiated presentations across Urgent Care Services. The Minor Injuries ACP will work as an autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, and planning care, including prescribing where qualified.
Responsibilities
* Manage acute presentations to the Walk‑In Centre as part of a team of autonomous practitioners.
* Determine urgency and best pathway for patients presenting to the Emergency Departments (streaming).
* Utilise clinical knowledge to manage patients presenting with acute, undifferentiated problems and those with chronic long term conditions.
* Assess, diagnose, and plan care for patients within scope of practice.
* Prescribe medications where qualified and clinically indicated.
Qualifications and Experience
* First Level registered Nurse (NMC, ECP), or ACP
* MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or relevant ANP courses at level 6 or 7, or equivalent in Advanced Physical Assessment skills, Minor Illness/Injuries, disease management, etc.
* Evidence of experience and competence within the role.
* A non‑medical prescribing qualification.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Teaching qualification (e.g., 998 or equivalent) – desirable.
* Satisfactory DBS clearance.
* Experience of managing acute undifferentiated presentations.
* Ability to triage (desirable).
* Good understanding of autonomous practice within a minor illness & injuries/urgent care centre.
