Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our organisation's financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial management, accounting software, and regulatory compliance. This pivotal role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records to support strategic decision-making. The successful applicant will play a key part in maintaining the organisation's financial health and integrity.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
* Utilise accounting software such as Xero, and other relevant platforms to maintain precise financial records.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.
* Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies related to financial management.
* Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
* Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
* Lead the implementation of new accounting systems or upgrades to existing software to enhance efficiency.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role within a consumer goods, ecommerce or retail organisation.
* Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
* Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, alongside general financial management tools.
* Demonstrable experience managing accounts payable functions and preparing detailed financial reports.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA are highly desirable but not essential.
