To promote positive parenting in our groups and sessions, enabling parents and carers to support their children's development in group/session settings. to follow planning and model techniques that support parents and carers to understand the developmental ages and stages of their children. to engage parents in conversation and encourage peer support for the wellbeing of the family. groups can be virtual as well as face to face, one to one support is occasionally called upon. Please explore our web page: Home - Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service (essexfamilywellbeing.co.uk) The successful candidate will follow a school readiness pathway through play sessions using the EYFS guidelines, as well as have a good understanding of birth to school development stages, including, nutrition, potty training sleep and typical behaviours. Healthy Family Support Assistants are part of a team so support is always available if required. We record on clinical records so some IT knowledge is necessary for the role. A rigorous mandated training programme is in place, with ongoing optional personal development training if required. To provide advice, support and services to children, young people and their families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the service. Applicants must demonstrate in their application form that they currently use the skills outlined below or have used them previously in employment, education, training, volunteering etc. Some experience of working with children and young people but this does not have to have been gained in a formal employment setting. As per NHS guidance this role will require successful applicants to evidence immunisations or immunity for MMR and Chicken Pox. This is due to the clinical focus of some tasks and the requirement to work with vulnerable families, young people and children. The roles within this service will also require the successful applicant to wear PPE including the wearing of a protective mask, to follow social distancing rules as stated within the current NHS guidelines and to remain compliant with any future mandatory requirements introduced by the Government/NHS. Skills/Abilities Educated to a level 3 in a child discipline qualification Be confident in facilitating sessions alone for parents/carers and their children Understand the EYFS and how it impacts learning Able to accurately and clearly record case notes deploying the necessary standard of writing and IT skills. Able to apply Barnardo's safeguarding and child protection procedures. Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Able use judgement and take responsible action if unsure. Car driver is essential due to working area. primarily in the Rayleigh, Hullbridge and Rochford area some demographically flexibility required.
