Senior Buyer Location: Tachbrook Park, Warwick Department: Procurement Reports to: Head of Procurement We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team and play a key role in delivering value and supporting our business objectives. As a Senior Buyer, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across Calor to provide a comprehensive procurement service that drives best value, strengthens supplier partnerships, and supports the wider SHV Energy procurement strategy. This is a highly strategic role, managing a supplier portfolio across the business. You will use your strong procurement expertise and supplier management skills to deliver commercial improvements, mitigate risks, and enhance service levels. In addition, you’ll take an active role in developing junior buyers, supporting both their growth and the wider success of the team. Key Responsibilities Drive value through cost reduction, risk management, service improvements, and quality delivery across your categories. Build strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted procurement business partner across the organisation. Lead sourcing strategies, including tendering, e-auctions, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Develop supplier relationships to deliver long-term improvements for Calor in both cost and service. Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, ensuring compliance with contractual terms. Manage risks across spend categories and ensure compliance with Procurement policies. Oversee transactional activities (supplier onboarding, reporting, data management) within your supplier base. Support and mentor Junior Buyers, sharing expertise and encouraging professional development. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree and/or CIPS qualified (or working towards), with 5 years’ procurement experience. Proven track record in delivering savings and value through strategic sourcing. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels. Experience across a broad range of procurement projects, delivering results beyond savings. Knowledge of supplier and risk management, KPIs, and continuous improvement methods. Analytical, commercially astute, and highly organised. Confident communicator, able to manage complex negotiations and drive procurement strategy. Why Apply?
