Overview
The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team. The appointee will have a principal interest in Gen Ophthalmology and Cornea, and they will be expected to contribute to the General Ophthalmology, Corneal and emergency service on the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) site and associated community hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit.
* Undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to General Ophthalmology, Corneal and emergency services at LRI and associated community hospitals, with a principal interest in Gen Ophthalmology and Cornea.
* Join an active and enthusiastic team of 28 Ophthalmologists, 7x Specialty Doctors; ophthalmology services are provided within the UHL.
* 1x Emergency Eye Casualty session per week is mandatory for all posts within Ophthalmology.
* The post includes Saturday working, and the service reserves the right to include evening on call for the emergency eye casualty department, but this is not currently required in the present job plan.
