Key responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical advice and leadership in the development and implementation of effective care pathways for pregnant women and birthing people.
* Drive improvements in health outcomes by addressing inequalities in all aspects of care.
* Lead the implementation of the midwifery strategy, ensuring high-quality, inclusive care for women and their families.
* Collaborate with various departments and health professionals to deliver evidence-based practice and best possible care.
* Oversee the Public Health Core20PLUS5 agenda and work alongside local services to ensure equitable and responsive care.
Qualifications and experience
Experience
* Proven experience in a senior midwifery role with a strong focus on public health.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and implement strategic initiatives in a healthcare setting.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the highest standards of professional behaviour.
Essential
* NMC Registered Midwife
Desirable
* Substantial recent experience of working at a senior level either within the acute, primary or educational sector.
Qualifications
* Masters Degree in relevant subject or demonstrable evidence of working at this level
Knowledge - Essential
* Demonstrate a track record of developing multi professional clinical practice and patient services.
* Evidence of innovation and change management.
* Is capable of leading substantial organisational change and must be able to generate commitment to change.
* Understanding of, and the ability to, apply principles of evidence-based health care.
* Capable of translating the vision for Public Health Services and the specialist midwifery workforce strategy into effective organisational policies, objectives and clearly defined tasks.
Knowledge - Desirable
* Understand change management processes.
* Understands the principles of system level working and the direction of travel in the wider NHS.
