New Directions is proud to be working with several welcoming secondary schools in the Leeds area who are seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with classroom experience who enjoys supporting students and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Role Responsibilities
1. Supervise students during short-term teacher absences
2. Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure student engagement
3. Manage classroom behaviour and foster a supportive atmosphere
4. Provide guidance and encouragement to students as needed
5. Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth lesson transitions
Requirements
6. Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor (or similar classroom-based role)
7. Confident and approachable demeanour
8. Strong classroom management skills
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
10. Flexibility to work across different subjects and settings
11. Genuine commitment to supporting students’ learning and well-being
