Job Summary
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. The role is central to supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care across the Division. The post holder will lead and coordinate a wide range of quality governance and patient safety activities, including incident investigations, risk management, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Divisional Senior Team and clinical services, the role focuses on analysing data, monitoring quality performance, and ensuring that learning from incidents, audits, and feedback is translated into meaningful improvements in practice.
Main Duties
* Support the delivery of patient safety, quality improvement, and governance activities across the Division.
* Coordinate and support investigations of clinical incidents, ensuring learning is identified and shared.
* Monitor and maintain divisional risk registers and support the escalation and management of identified risks.
* Analyse and report on quality indicators including incidents, complaints, audits, and performance metrics.
* Develop and maintain quality governance dashboards, reports, and data collection systems.
* Provide expert advice and support to clinical teams on patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement.
* Facilitate governance meetings and support the Divisional Senior Team with reports, action plans, and monitoring progress.
* Support compliance with national standards, regulatory requirements, and external inspections.
* Build strong working relationships with clinical, managerial, and governance teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Essential
* Degree level qualification and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Desirable
* Governance training
* PSIRF training
* Clinical qualification and hold current registration with the relevant professional body
* Teaching certificate
* Clinical risk management qualification
Experience
Essential
* Experience of quality governance work in the NHS or healthcare setting.
* Experience of working with complaints and clinical or non-clinical incidents.
* Broad understanding of the NHS governance agendas.
* Successful change management in the health care setting.
* Experience of writing reports and investigations.
Desirable
* Knowledge of Care Quality Standards.
* Experience with risk management systems exporting data and providing reports.
* Understanding of the regulatory requirements in relation to quality governance.
