JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Legal Assistant within Conveyancing department
PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the Lawyers in the day to day performance of their
tasks
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS,SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Excellent word-processing and audio-typing skills
Preferable previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of
working in an alternative professional office.
AREAS OF WORK: Typing, Filing, Scanning
Email & online legal packages
Preparation of Mail
Preparation and maintenance of databases
Taking and transmitting of messages between Client and Lawyer and
other Employees and Lawyer
Providing information to Clients
KEY TASKS:
o File documents and open new files within the criteria set down by the Quality Control Manual
* Identify and retrieve documents from within an established filing system
* Produce information in typewritten form
* Prepare for despatch outgoing/internal mail
* Produce copies from original documents using photocopier
* Scanning documents
* Receive and assist Clients calling into the Office
* Main point of call for Conveyancing helplines
* Receive and relay oral and written messages
* Transmit and receive copies of documents using email
* Opening files, closing files and archiving ledgers
* Produce a wide variety of documents
* Complete accounts documentation and time recording documentation
STANDARDS: To provide a service to a level required by the Office Manual

Pay: £20,000.00-£23,020.00 per year
