Project Overview
The Project is the expansion of an existing process facility located on a Nuclear site in Capenhurst, Cheshire (UK). It will provide a major component of the UK’s energy security strategy. The scope includes overseeing the delivery of FEED and coordinating design deliverables to facilitate construction contract award.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will assist the Environment, Sustainability, Permitting and Consents Manager in managing specialist consultant teams to develop, integrate and implement all project‑related licenses and consents. The role also supports the Urenco Kilns 3 & 4 project, developing and implementing the Sustainability Management Plan (SMP) and supporting the Net Zero Programme.
Major Responsibilities
* Support the Environment, Sustainability, Permitting and Consents Manager on the Kilns 3 & 4 project.
* Help develop and implement project Management Plans, including the Sustainability Management Plan (SMP).
* Assist in reporting on environmental performance and sustainability, tracking metrics and KPIs.
* Manage and record environmental metrics, incidents and risks for the Project.
* Coordinate with the customer, engineering, procurement, construction and stakeholders to implement and monitor the sustainability programme.
* Assist with programme, plan and delivery of all required land use planning consents and environmental permitting for construction and operation.
* Help assemble and interpret environmental data, particularly water and soil contamination at the construction site.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field and at least a few years of experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Degree in town planning, environmental or sustainability related field.
* Knowledge of environmental key topics and issues on complex infrastructure construction projects.
* Knowledge of UK land use planning policy.
* Working knowledge of project and risk management processes and procedures.
* Understanding of basic environmental chemistry.
* Construction site safety practices.
* IT skills, including Microsoft Office for project workstreams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship‑building skills.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practice.
* Knowledge of UK waste disposal laws.
* Knowledge of Habitat and Conservation requirements.

Location and Work Arrangements
Based at the project design office in Warrington with required travel to Capenhurst. The role requires a minimum of three days per week on site; full‑time on‑site attendance will be required when site activity commences. Part‑time telework is permitted under the global telework policy.
Security Clearance
Candidates must have or be able to obtain an SC security clearance.
