Risk and Best Practice Analyst Role Summary

We are looking for an additional Risk and Best Practice Analyst to join our Risk and Best Practice Team, reporting into the AML/CMI Manager. The role will provide second line, technical advisory support to the business on all risk and compliance issues and manage risk and compliance registers and records. You will be able to demonstrate an interest in laws and regulations and have excellent knowledge of the core compliance subjects relevant to a law firm, including the SRA Standards and Regulations, data protection and anti-money laundering. Some knowledge of Legal Aid work and quality standards would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities of the Risk and Best Practice Analyst:

* Monitor and manage all queries via the Risk and Best Practice ticketing system, providing guidance and support or escalating queries in accordance with the triage system. The team receives queries on a broad range of subject matters but particularly those relating to the SRA Standards and Regulations, data protection, anti-money laundering, and claims and complaints.

* Support the Director of Risk and Best Practice with maintenance of the risk and compliance registers and databases, including registers of compliance breaches, data requests, AML records and conflicts of interests.

* Put key deadlines into calendars of team members and monitor to ensure deadlines are met

* Provide administrative support for external and internal audits, including those relating to Lexcel and AML

* Manage external registrations and communications such as with the Information Commissioner

* Maintaining the risk and compliance intranet pages and draft and issue risk and compliance updates and comms to the wider firm

* Manage the iManage risk and compliance folders

* Assist with the presentation of induction training for new joiners and ongoing training on compliance matters

* Assist with the design of training materials and maintain registers of training delivered by the Risk and Best Practice Team

* Undertake ad hoc legal research and keep the team up to date on relevant changes to regulation/legislation e.g. anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and data protection legislation across all the jurisdictions in which the firm operates

* Provide support with policy and procedure updates

* Provide supporting with/on wider firm systems such as Peppermint

* Provide support to our claims handler with ad-hoc admin tasks

* Provide support managing data subject requests

* Provide administrative support to the wider team

* Provide training support to the Risk and Best Practice Advisors

* Collaborate with the fee earning teams on project work

* Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as requested from time to time

Skills, Expereince and Attributes for the Risk and Best Practice Analyst

* Legal qualification (desirable).

* Degree level education or equivalent (desirable).

* Using initiative and taking ownership of projects and tasks.

* Meets deadlines.

* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

* Analytical, numerate and good attention to detail.

* Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.

* Client service focused.
