History and Geography Teacher (SEN Specialist)

We are seeking a high:calibre Humanities Teacher with a proven track record in special education to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to help establish the pedagogical roots of a brand:new school which opened in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey. The Package

Salary: GBP34,398 : GBP48,913 per year (M1 : UPS1 Fringe)

Bonus: GBP5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers

Contract: Full:time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (Early 4:00 PM finish on Fridays)

Key Responsibilities
*
Advanced Differentiation: Deliver high:quality teaching for pupils with autism and multiple learning difficulties, ensuring the curriculum meets their physical and social needs.
*
EHCP Leadership: Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews.
*
Strategic Planning: Maintain and use short, medium, and long:term plans to deliver a structured and motivating learning environment.
*
Specialist Awareness: Maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism to plan effective, non:confrontational teaching.
*
Mentorship: Supervise support staff and provide professional support to other teachers within your subject area.
Requirements
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): PGCE or equivalent is essential.
*
SEND Expertise: Significant experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with autism and complex needs.
*
Clinical Insight: Knowledge and understanding of autism and associated co:morbid conditions.
*
Resilience: Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.
*
Mobility: A driving license is highly desirable due to limited public transport and the potential requirement to work at our satellite site in Caterham.
