The Social Value and Communications Placement Student will support the organisation in capturing, reporting and communicating the social value it creates through the delivery of support services across the UK Defence Training Estate. The role will involve helping to gather evidence of social impact, contributing to social value reporting and translating data and achievements into clear, engaging communications for internal and external audiences.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, the placement student will support a range of communications and PR activity, with a particular focus on showcasing social value achievements through reports, case studies, digital content and communication materials. This role offers hands‑on experience in social impact reporting, corporate communications and purpose‑led story‑telling.
Key Details
* Hours of work: 37 per week
* Hybrid: 1‑2 days a week
* Start Date: Autumn 2026
* Contract: 12‑month fixed term
* Location: Westdown Camp, Tilshead, Salisbury Wiltshire SP3 4RX
* Nearest Train Station: Salisbury Train Station, South Western Road, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP2 7RS
* Travel Required: You will be expected to undertake some UK travel as project needs dictate
* Transport: The remote nature of some of the Landmarc sites and lack of public transport means that the successful candidate will need access to their own transport and hold a full driving licence.

Main Responsibilities
* Bring a strong interest in social value, social impact, sustainability or corporate responsibility
* Understand how communications and PR help promote an organisation’s values and achievements
* Use a range of communication channels — including websites, social media, newsletters and marketing materials
* Combine data, evidence and storytelling to help demonstrate meaningful impact
* Work confidently with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Apply basic design principles and use tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign or Illustrator to support visual content

* Access to own transport due to the rural location of site

Landmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE). This includes maintaining and delivering safe and sustainable infrastructure, managing and operating training areas and ranges and delivering multi‑million pound projects to improve vital training assets.
