Sales Manager — Hampton Manor

At Hampton Manor, we believe hospitality can be something deeper. When craft, deep values and people come together, something meaningful happens around the table.

Our manor house, historic walled garden, 2 award winning restaurants, artisan bakery and cookery school create the setting for the most immersive of private events and weddings.

From a Michelin star at Grace & Savour to being named among the world’s 50 best hotels by The Telegraph, our work has been recognised — but what matters most is how it feels to be here.

We’re now looking for a Sales Manager to lead the team responsible for how guests first encounter that experience.

To apply, please send your CV and cover letter to fjona@hamptonmanor.com.

Sales Manager

Location: Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire

Contract: Full-time (Tuesday–Saturday or Wednesday–Sunday).

Salary: £38,000–£42,000 per annum + service charge tips (£3k average) + performance bonus (£2-3k). Total package £44,000 - £49,000.

About Hampton Manor

We are a family-run business, built over time, where chefs, growers, makers, and hosts work together with wholeheartedness, authenticity, and imagination — creating experiences that feel personal, considered and lasting.

Around the table, people are brought together, stories are shared, and moments are shaped with intention — so that guests feel safe, seen, and celebrated, with hearts connected and hope renewed.

We craft moments that connect people — to each other, to place, and to a story that carries beyond the moment.

About the Role

This is a leadership role at the very beginning of the guest journey.

As Sales Manager, you will lead the team responsible for how guests first encounter Hampton Manor — shaping the conversations, the tone, and the trust that turns interest into commitment.

You will oversee:

* A team of sales lead, events coordinators and reservations

Together, your responsibility is simple but important:

Ensure every guest feels seen, understood, and confident in choosing us.

Alongside this, you will play a key role in helping the business evolve — embracing new tools, technologies, and ways of working that improve both performance and experience.

Key Responsibilities

● Team Leadership & Development

* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial team
* Support and guide the Reservations & Guest Experience Manager
* Build confidence, professionalism, and accountability
* Recognise and celebrate strong judgement and thoughtful work
* Create an environment where people feel safe, seen, and capable
* Ensure sales technique in your team isn’t just instinctual but is the result of embedded strategic technique and sales coaching, as developed together with the Sales Director

● Sales Performance & Standards

* Drive consistent and confident conversion across the team
* Ensure strong follow-up discipline and pipeline management
* Maintain high standards in communication, show rounds, and proposals
* Intervene early when performance drifts

● Guest Journey & First Impressions

* Oversee how guests experience Hampton Manor from first enquiry
* Ensure conversations feel personal, intuitive, and considered
* Maintain alignment between sales, reservations, and operations
* Protect the integrity of the guest experience from the outset

● Collaboration on Sales Approach & Experience

* Work closely with the Sales Director and Creative Director to shape how the sales journey is experienced
* Contribute to refining the sales process so each interaction reflects the spirit of Hampton Manor
* Engage with sales theory, techniques, and external thinking — applying learning in practice
* Help translate ideas into clear, repeatable approaches for the team

● Technology, Systems & Future Readiness

* Support the business in adapting to new tools, systems, and AI-led approaches within sales and guest interaction
* Work with the Sales Director to implement improvements in:
* CRM and pipeline management
* Automation and communication tools
* AI-assisted enquiry handling
* Observe how technology is shaping:
* Guest expectations
* Response times
* Booking behaviour
* Ensure the team adopts new systems with confidence and consistency
* Balance efficiency with warmth — ensuring technology enhances, not replaces, human connection

Focus:

Keeping Hampton Manor current, capable, and ahead — without losing its soul

● Systems, Structure & Discipline

* Ensure consistent use of CRM and booking systems
* Maintain clean, accurate pipeline data
* Uphold processes, templates, and communication standards
* Work within the commercial framework set by the Sales Director

● Commercial Awareness & Insight

* Monitor team performance against targets
* Identify patterns in:
* Conversion
* Demand
* Pricing sensitivity
* Share observations and insight with the Sales Director and Business Performance Manager

● Leading by Example

* Personally handle enquiries, show rounds, quotations and follow up
* Support complex or high-value conversions
* Demonstrate calm, confident, relationship-led selling
* Look after escalated complaints

Reporting Line

* Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director
* Direct reports: Sales Leads / Coordinators, Reservations & Guest Experience Manager
* Works closely with: Creative Director, Business Performance Manager, Operations Teams

Who You Are

You are:

* Warm, credible, and instinctive with people
* Experienced in relationship-led sales
* A strong coach who develops others
* Organised and disciplined in how you work
* Commercially aware and thoughtful in decision-making
* Calm under pressure, with strong presence
* Emotionally intelligent and collaborative
1.
And importantly:

* Self-led and motivated to improve
* Curious about sales craft, psychology, and technique
* Interested in how technology and AI are shaping hospitality
* Open to challenge, learning, and new ways of working
* Able to bring others with you through change

You take pride not just in performance, but in progression — for yourself and your team.

● This Role Will Suit Someone Who

* Enjoys both leading people and staying close to the work
* Finds satisfaction in developing others, not just personal success
* Is energised by improving systems and refining how things are done
* Is curious and proactive in learning new approaches to sales
* Wants to play a role in shaping how hospitality evolves, not just maintaining the status quo

What Success Looks Like

Within 12–18 months, you will demonstrate:

* A confident, capable, and trusted commercial team
* Strong and consistent conversion rates
* A seamless and well-held guest journey from enquiry to arrival
* High standards of communication and professionalism
* Strong collaboration across sales, reservations, and operations
* Successful adoption of new tools and ways of working
* A sales experience that clearly reflects the spirit of Hampton Manor

● Looking Ahead (Year 2–3)

As the role matures, you will:

* Play a key role in evolving how we sell as a business
* Play a proactive role at bringing in new clients
* Help shape new approaches to enquiry handling and guest engagement
* Contribute to the integration of AI and automation in a way that enhances, not diminishes, the experience
* Continue to raise the capability and confidence of the team
* Become a trusted voice in how we balance commercial performance with guest experience

● Technology Direction

We are actively evolving how we use:

* CRM and data to better understand our guests
* Automation to improve speed and consistency
* AI to support enquiry handling and communication

This role will be central in:

* Testing and implementing these tools
* Observing how guests respond
* Refining how they are used in practice

Our Approach

At Hampton Manor, we believe:

* People choose people
* Trust matters more than pressure
* Structure creates freedom
* Small details create lasting memories

Technology supports us — but never replaces what makes hospitality human.

Why Hampton Manor

* Be part of a values-led, family-run business
* Lead a team with real influence on the guest experience
* Work in an environment that values craft, care, and curiosity
* Develop leadership, commercial, and future-ready capability
* Help shape how we evolve as a business in a changing world

Role Identity

The Sales Manager is the Head Coach, Standards Guardian, and Performance Enforcer of our commercial team.

They do not just drive results.

They:

* Build people
* Evolve their craft
* Embrace change
* Prepare the business for what comes next
