Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams. This role is part of the Compliance and Monitoring team within the Reservoir Regulation team. It is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week) and is national in scope, based at any Environment Agency office. Some travel and overnight stays will be required.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence and record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
Team context
You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, part of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is nationally dispersed, comprising 25+ experienced staff responsible for regulating more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. Some travel and overnight stays are required.
