What will you be doing
You will take ownership of environmental and radiological advice across the site, ensuring activities are delivered in line with legal and company requirements. This includes shaping how environmental standards are applied day to day, not just monitored, but actively improved. Your input will support better decision making, helping teams manage risk and deliver work safely and responsibly.
Working closely with operational, engineering, and safety teams, you will contribute to key assessments, guide environmental strategy, and maintain robust monitoring and reporting arrangements. You will also play a part in influencing site performance, identifying opportunities to reduce waste, oversight of radiochemistry laboratory, improve processes, and strengthen overall environmental outcomes.
* Provide specialist advice on environmental protection and radioactive waste management
* Guide environmental assessments, safety cases, and compliance activities
* Oversee monitoring and reporting of discharges to meet regulatory requirements
* Identify and drive practical improvements in environmental performance and waste reduction
Who are we looking for
You will bring solid experience from a nuclear environment, with a strong understanding of environmental compliance and radiological protection. A degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject is expected, alongside recognised professional membership and Accredited Health Physicist status. You are comfortable interpreting regulatory requirements and turning them into clear, workable guidance for others.

You maintain high standards while staying practical, and you are committed to ongoing professional development to keep your knowledge current.
* Experience working on a nuclear site within an environmental or radiological role
* Accredited Health Physicist, with evidence of continued professional development
* Understanding of environmental regulations such as the Radioactive Substances Act or Environmental Permitting Regulations
* Ability to influence and guide stakeholders through clear, practical advice
