Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide support and care to residents during overnight shifts in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, basic IT knowledge, and the ability to work independently during night hours.
Responsibilities
* Monitor residents' wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to their needs and emergencies.
* Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and comfort checks.
* Follow individual care plans to deliver personalised support in accordance with each resident's requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' conditions and any incidents that occur during the shift.
* Ensure the safety and security of the premises by conducting regular checks and reporting any concerns.
* Support residents with medication reminders or administration as per care plans (training provided if necessary).
* Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care.
* Adhere to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during overnight hours.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community visits or transportation needs.
* Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
* Proficiency in basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
* Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals.
* Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety.
