About your team Investment Solutions & Services (ISS) reflects the alignment of teams that focus on the development of investment products and services, and their distribution to wholesale, institutional, intermediaries and other B2B clients. It is managed as a separate business from Fidelity’s Platform Business which offers a range of products and services that help end investors improve their financial health. Investment Solutions & Services (ISS) includes Investment Management teams for Equity, Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Private Assets as well as the Global Investment Research function. Distribution teams that cover UK & Europe, Asia Pacific including Japan and Australia, a global Product Development team and the COO organisation for ISS. The Investment Management (IM) Strategy & Planning team is a critical function at the centre of enabling the smooth running of FIL’s investment management teams as well as the leading the development and the delivery of our long-term investment management strategy. About your role As the IM Strategy & Planning Manager, your primary role is to provide business management support to the Global CIO for Equities. You will also work with members of Equities Leadership Team on an ongoing basis to support the management of their functions. The successful candidate will join the Equities Team and will play a leading role in the organisation, management and coordination of meetings, events and agendas. You will also help to drive progress within the Equities department, identifying opportunities for greater synergies across asset classes and ensuring global connectivity and effective partnership with Distribution. You will be expected to deal with highly sensitive information and be a reliable and innovative sounding board for senior members of the team, as well as preparing materials for internal and external meetings & governance forums. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of our current & future investment processes as well as internal governance and decision-making groups. You will develop a close partnership with leaders and organisations outside of your immediate team to enable you to deliver on your responsibilities and influence decisions at a senior level. A successful approach will be structured and methodical while maintaining the maximum level of flexibility and responsiveness to rapidly changing inputs and requirements. You will need to be proactive at identifying areas for improvement, and reliable in delivery. You will be required to work very closely with the Equities leadership teams, undertaking business management activities including, but not limited to, preparing internal and external presentations, board reporting, organising and running leadership team offsites and events, internal communication programmes and being a key enabler to the smooth running of the teams. Key stakeholders will predominantly be senior members of the Equities teams, as well as other members of the IM Strategy & Planning team, Investment Professionals, HR Business Partners, Finance and global/regional department heads. Working closely with these stakeholders and other internal stakeholders, outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to your success. You will be expected to provide constructive challenge to stakeholder groups, demonstrating curiosity and a passion for driving positive change. Responsibilities • Provide robust business management support to the Global CIO for Equities • Develop and maintain presentation content & collateral to support the communication and regular update of the asset class including its strategic initiatives • Track the development and progress of key goals and initiatives • Independently develop relationships with stakeholders to understand business priorities, analyse solutions and coordinate required resourcing to ensure goals can be achieved within agreed timescales and budgets • Represent functions within the Investment Management group to key stakeholders and partners across the broader Fidelity community, including but not limited to, Distribution, Technology, Operations, Compliance, HR & Finance • Gather inputs from key SMEs across the ISS group to provide regular Board and other governance updates • Partner with SMEs across the business to develop Management Information and Key Performance Indicators to enhance management decision making across the Investment Management group • Champion communication & collaboration across functions, asset classes and geographies • Provide ongoing and ad-hoc reporting to support senior management decision making • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and other meetings / communications About you • Excellent problem solving and presentation skills • High degree of flexibility to take on activities & projects as priorities and sequencing of activities evolve • A strong “can do” attitude with the ability to influence strategic change and get things done • Significant analytical and strategy development experience • Understanding of the AM industry environment, and the opportunity for Fidelity to further evolve and enhance its equity capabilities • A strong desire to learn and be comfortable operating in an ambiguous, fast changing environment • Collaborative team player and self-starter, with flexibility to work in a culturally diverse environment • Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities • Ability to digest complex regulatory rules and translate these to practical business solutions • Strong senior stakeholder management skills • Strong influencing skills • Proficient in MS Office (in particular highly proficient at creating PowerPoint presentations to deliver recommendations/analysis/information to senior stakeholders)
