Metallurgist
Location: Redditch, UK
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
Clearance Requirement: Sole British nationals only

iO Associates are proud to partner with a UK-based engineering leader specialising in the design, forging, machining, and assembly of high-precision components for the aerospace and defence sectors. Their products support landing gear, aero engines, airframes, and actuation systems for industry-leading clients.

Key Requirements:

* Degree or HNC/HND qualification in Engineering or Materials, or equivalent industry experience
* Proven experience as a Technologist in the Automotive or Aerospace sectors

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Metallurgical Testing - Act as the primary technical authority in the lab, conducting tests, first article inspections, and reporting in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap standards.
2. Ensure Quality & Compliance - Maintain rigorous testing quality, ensure customer specifications are met, support audits, and drive continuous improvement.
3. Collaborate Across Departments - Liaise with manufacturing and engineering to align metallurgical activities, support investigations, and contribute to development initiatives.
