The project has started construction and seeks private investment. It will provide dependable electricity to millions of homes and support Britain’s Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Independent Technical Assessor to join the Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA) function at Sizewell.

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled INA Technical Assessor to join the INA function at Sizewell C. The INA team, as the internal regulator, plays a vital oversight role in assuring the nuclear safety, security, and environmental performance of the project, providing independent, objective assessments of compliance and performance.
As an Independent Technical Assessor, you will assess systems, processes, and behaviours to ensure compliance with nuclear regulations and internal standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting a strong nuclear safety culture.
For this opportunity, we are seeking experience in Mechanical Structural Integrity and/or Mechanical Engineering; however, experience in other technical areas will also be considered.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Proven experience in the nuclear industry or other high hazard/regulated industries, ideally in a safety, engineering, or assurance role.
* Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles, nuclear site licence conditions, and regulatory frameworks (ONR, EA).
* Experience in assessing complex technical systems, operational processes and safety cases.
* Background in Engineering, Science, or a relevant discipline.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
Qualifications
The role seeks expertise in Mechanical Structural Integrity and/or Mechanical Engineering; other technical areas will be considered.
