Overview
Customer and Trading Manager - Nightshift role at Sainsbury's. Evening/night shift management with responsibility for replenishment, store operations, and team leadership.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead an overnight team to deliver all replenishment activities across the store, prioritise deliveries, organise the warehouse, and replenish shelves.
* Often run a full store operation overnight, taking responsibility for the full shift and the safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
* Ensure standards are excellent by morning so the store is ready to serve customers.
* Manage performance and capability, conduct disciplinary matters, and ensure scheduling and pay are accurate.
Nightshift roles are full-time over 4 nights, with a £4,500 premium on top of base salary. Typical shift times are 21:00 – 07:00.
Essential Criteria
* Strong track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues accordingly.
* Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment; motivate others, drive performance, and keep operations running smoothly.
* Operational leadership skills with responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
* Proven success in meeting or exceeding KPIs (sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement).
* Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
* Desirable experience working night shifts in a high-volume, operational environment with ability to create a safe, supportive atmosphere during out-of-hours trading.

* Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

* Experience delivering and monitoring KPIs or other performance indicators.
* Ability to manage disciplinaries and other employee relations issues.
* Leads operations and is comfortable working alone in the absence of more senior management.
