Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people? Do you want to develop your career in housing and support services? We have an exciting opportunity for a Sheltered Housing Officer to join our team.
The Supported Housing Service has three strands: Sheltered Housing (comprising 26 sheltered schemes in Battersea, Putney, Roehampton, and Tooting), Tenancy Support Service for vulnerable clients, and Community Development.
About The Role
As a Sheltered Housing Officer, your role will involve the day-to-day management of sheltered housing schemes, supporting vulnerable tenants, and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment.
* Provide support and guidance to tenants, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Manage administration of the sheltered schemes, including record keeping.
* Respond to tenant queries and concerns, offering advice and assistance.
* Help maintain and improve the quality of the scheme environment.
* Work closely with other professionals and agencies to support tenants.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* Knowledge of the aims of sheltered housing.
* Ability to write concise reports, including Independence Plans, and keep accurate records (both digital and written).
* Experience with IT applications like Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Experience working within a team.
* Ability to travel and provide cover at various sheltered sites.
* Willingness to undertake professional training, including CIH Level 3 in Housing Studies.
