In this senior role, you will provide expert technical leadership in licensing, overseeing complex cases, supervising a team of officers, and supporting service improvement initiatives.
You will play a key part in ensuring high standards in the private rented sector through inspections, investigations, and enforcement of relevant housing legislation.
Essential Experience: Substantial private sector housing experience, particularly in licensing Team leadership or management experience, including staff supervision and development Experience working in a local government environment Key Responsibilities Include: Leading and overseeing complex licensing cases and investigations Providing specialist advice, mentoring, and day-to-day supervision to the team Preparing evidence for legal proceedings and representing the service as required Contributing to service development and collaborative working with internal and external partners This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with strong professional judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving housing standards for residents.
You will need to be able to work occasional unsociable hours, undertake site inspections, and hold a full driving licence (or have suitable transport arrangements). xsngvjr
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., degree/diploma in Environmental Health, Housing or equivalent) and up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation are essential.
