Our OEM Client based in Whitley, Coventry, is searching for a Data Quality & Management Engineer (Test Data) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026. Umbrella Pay Rate: £28.06 per hour.

We are looking for individuals who are excited about data management and validation and can bring their passion and experience to our growing team. This role will work across Electric machine, Electric Drive Unit (EDU), Inverter, Cell, Battery, Power in Loop (PiL), and Vehicle in Loop (ViL) test beds.
The person in this data validation and management role will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, secure, and accessible test data to enable efficient engineering decisions.

To develop world-class propulsion systems, we need world-class test and data management and validation. The specialist role seeks someone with knowledge of different testing environments, data management, and validation. The role requires cross-functional work to deploy a common approach to data piping, validation tools, and building a federated data platform.
You will work towards becoming the Subject Matter Expert for data management and validation and deliver training to improve data quality across the team.
Key Performance Indicators include data availability, data accuracy confidence, data availability time, First Time Right (FTR), data quality targets, metrics availability, delivery performance, utilization, test delivery hours, schedule performance index, and DV delivery burndown.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage data sources, acquisition, validation, piping, storage, and visualisation for physical test environments.
* Deliver data quality reviews to support programme targets and validate technologies.
* Develop calculations, parameterisation, regulations, and processes for in-house data tools.
* Ensure measurement repeatability and compliance with regulations.
* Conduct correlation exercises across test facilities and beds.
* Review and improve measurement quality and equipment performance.
* Analyze test results, initiate corrective actions, and collaborate on improving test bed consistency.
* Work closely with the Data Quality SME to meet KPIs.
* Recommend process improvements and research best practices.
* Investigate ways to optimize equipment capability and data quality.
* Promote growth mind-set and provide technical coaching and training.
* Undertake other tasks as directed by the line manager.
Interactions include Engineering Operation Managers, Lead Engineers, Suppliers, External Facility Providers, Technical Specialists, Data Enterprise Teams, Test Engineers, Automation Engineers, Team Members, Degree Apprentice Students.
Essential skills:
* Degree in natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, or computing.
* Experience in application design, preferably in Python.
* Building data systems and pipelines in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
* Data analysis, hypothesis testing, uncertainty analysis, process variation.
* Influencing engineering decisions through data analysis.
* Developing KPIs and graphical data presentation skills.
* Understanding of physical measurement equipment.
* Ability to produce reports and presentations.
Desirable skills:
* Academic thesis or capstone project in relevant field.
* Six Sigma Green Belt.
* Knowledge of process, calculation, measurement techniques, and legislative requirements.
* Experience in measurement science and equipment sensitivity.
