We have an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Platform Engineer to join the QF02 Project team at Barnard Castle. This role is critical to ensuring the design, installation, and ongoing performance of mechanical systems and hazardous utilities associated with this equipment.
Reporting to the Engineering Utilities Lead, you will provide technical expertise working with the QF02 Project Team, delivering engineering expertise and driving continuous improvement throughout the Project to delivery with ongoing technical ownership of this equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Skills
1. Serve as the Barnard Castle point of contact for mechanical systems, hazardous utilities, and associated infrastructure within the QF02 Project.
2. Ensure specification, documentation and validation testing are completed to maintain compliance.
Compliance & Quality
3. Own a range of GQP and GES standards, networking across the wider GSK engineering community and engaging senior stakeholders.
4. Working with Quality validation teams to prepare and manage technical quality documentation, Testing, GMP and support product-specific audits
5. Collaborate on any root cause analysis with Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Production teams.
Asset Management & Continuous Improvement
6. Define and own asset maintenance strategies for mechanical systems (including PSSR schedule adherence).
7. Integrate digital and data tools to optimise operational effectiveness.
8. Author and maintain processes and procedures relevant to mechanical systems.
Leadership & Collaboration
9. Generate technical improvements and project proposals, ensuring optimum investment value.
10. Manage delivery of planned engineering works using internal resources and trusted contractors.
11. Coach and mentor the Utilities & Facilities team to build capability and technical expertise.
12. Develop strong relationships with third-party service partners and external specialists.
Basic Qualifications
13. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
14. Relevant experience in a highly regulated industry (GMP).
15. Proficiency in SAP Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
16. Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Engineering Council (preferably IMECHE).
17. Proven ability to provide technical expertise across an organisation.
Preferred Qualifications
18. Experience of delivery of Sterile Filling Equipment and Facility Installations
19. Expertise in defining and deploying asset maintenance strategies.
